Weekend Watercolor & Ink Travel Journal & Photography Workshop
Friday 4/8 - Sunday 4/10
Join us for our first ever DSLR & iPhone photography workshop to Carmel, Monterrey & Pacific Grove in California. April has been know to be one of the best times of the year to visit Carmel and Monterey as the hills are usually green with spring flowers blooming and there are typically a good amount of sunny days with lovely sunsets. I would love to share this artistic experience with all of you!
Point Lobos State Natural Reserve is one of the most spectacularly beautiful coastal regions in California and is one of the locations we will be visiting it to capture its natural beauty. We will also visit the Lone Cypress at Pebble Beach in Carmel-By-The-Sea for inspiration in both travel journaling as well as photo opportunities.
We will practice our photography in the early mornings and at sunset and will travel journal in between in both the mornings and afternoons with watercolor and ink. Supply list provided upon registration. During our photography time, you can shoot with your iPhone or smart phone or bring your DSLR and we will practice creatively using our camera settings, different lenses, wide angle and close-up photography, night photography, as well as exploring composition, lighting and getting tack-sharp images. For smart phone shooters, we will also go over a variety of cool apps to make your photos really pop!
You are welcome to find a carpool buddy who is joining us on the trip or take your own car. Carmel is approximately a 6-7 hour drive from Orange County, depending on where you are starting from.
Lodging, meals and other expenses are not included. You are welcome to stay anywhere you'd like. I have reserved a room at the Carmel Mission Inn. They have good reviews and are offering reasonable rates for the area with a variety of different discounts. If you ask for the LG (Local Getaway) discount, they include breakfast each morning, two drink coupons for cocktails or espresso drinks, free in-room wifi, free parking, heated pool, hot tub, fitness center and are pet friendly.
